What Tottenham fans can now expect from Antonin Kinsky after what's seen in pre-season

Tottenham Hotspur look set to go into next season with Antonin Kinsky as their number one.

Only a few months ago, it looked like the Czechia international's career at the North London outfit was over after his disastrous performance against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The 23-year-old has bounced back well since, and he has Roberto De Zerbi to thank for it.

Guglielmo Vicario has completed a move to Juventus, but that's not the only reason Kinsky will be Spurs' number one for the 2026-27 campaign.

It takes great mental fortitude to come back from the situation the young shot-stopper experienced in N17.

During pre-season, the goalkeeper showed exactly why he's better suited to De Zerbi's possession-based style of play at the Lilywhites.

Antonin Kinsky pre-season in numbers at Tottenham

Tottenham's first game in preparation for the 2026-27 campaign was against MK Dons.

Kinsky featured in the first half, completing 94 per cent of his passes and, surprisingly, recording one successful dribble, as per Sofascore.

The Czechia international didn't feature against Auckland FC or Sydney FC during the tour of Australia and New Zealand, but put in a brilliant display against Chelsea as the North London outfit won 2-1.

Then, in the 70-minute game against Getafe at Hotspur Way, Kinsky completed 100 per cent of his passes.

In the 3-0 win over Hoffenheim, the young shot-stopper was called into action as he made three saves and recorded four defensive contributions.

The goalkeeper also completed 81 per cent of his passes, with 94 per cent accuracy in Spurs' own half.

Roberto De Zerbi's goalkeeping options assessed ahead of next season

Despite Vicario leaving for Juventus, it doesn't look like Tottenham have any plans of reinforcing their goalkeeping department.

It feels like Kinsky will be the undisputed number one after convincing De Zerbi of his qualities.

The North London outfit signed Martin Dubravka as a free agent this transfer window and he featured heavily at the start of pre-season.

Brandon Austin could possibly be vying for a number two spot alongside the former Burnley goalkeeper.

The Englishman played in the 2-2 draw against Hoffenheim and De Zerbi seems to have his three senior goalkeepers for next season.
