Stats show Jamie O'Hara is completely wrong about Tottenham after win vs Coventry
Tottenham Hotspur finally secured their first Premier League win of the season against Coventry City.
It's taken seven games, but Roberto De Zerbi's side are no longer waiting for their first three points of the campaign.
James Maddison, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies scored the goals as Spurs ran out 3-1 winners on Monday night.
The Lilywhites didn't have it all their own way, however, as Jack Rudoni equalised just minutes into the second half.
But the home side fought back and ensured it was they who picked up a vital victory in N17.
The challenge for Tottenham now is to make sure they build on this win and don't revert back to type over the coming weeks.
What did Jamie O'Hara say after Tottenham win vs Coventry?
After waiting so long for a Premier League win, Tottenham fans will certainly enjoy this one.
However, as any Spurs fan will know, you can't get too ahead of yourself when it comes to this team.
talkSPORT presenter Jamie O'Hara, on the other hand, is perhaps letting himself get carried away too much.
Writing via his X account after full-time on Monday night, the ex-Spurs player and supporter made sure everyone knew how he was feeling.
"SPURS ARE BACKKKKKK!!!!," he said, evidently delighted with the win and confident this will be the start of a Tottenham turn around.
But do the numbers Spurs put up against Coventry suggest that De Zerbi's side really are back after this one?
Coventry topped Tottenham in numerous attacking metrics
Like Tottenham, newly-promoted Coventry have also been finding things tough in the Premier League this season.
Frank Lampard's side have won two of their opening seven games, both of which coming back-to-back ahead of their trip to North London.
A win is a win for Tottenham, but judging by the data produced from Monday night, to say Spurs are now back is to get overly carried away.
Per FotMob, Spurs registered an expected goals (xG) of just 0.86, whilst Coventry followed very closely with 0.77.
The Sky Blues took 26 touches in Spurs' box compared to the 24 Tottenham took in theirs.
Meanwhile, the away side created one big chance to Spurs' zero, had an equal number of corners (four) and took more shots inside the box (11 to 10).
So, despite putting only one shot on target, Coventry still somehow found more success in numerous attacking metrics than Tottenham did.
It's not like Spurs totally blew Coventry away, and so whilst three points is the main thing, Tottenham will have to be far better than this if they are to truly be back.
