Antonin Kinsky came on leaps and bounds under Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham.

Back in March, the Czech shotstopper had the worst night of his career against Atletico Madrid.

After a handful of mistakes on Spanish soil, interim manager Igor Tudor would haul him off after just 17 minutes of first half action.

At 22, he is incredibly young for a goalkeeper, with the evening proving too much for him as Tottenham's dismal run continued.

After this, he would begin to blossom under De Zerbi, playing an integral role as the Lilywhites secured their Premier League survival.

Despite this, there are no guarantees of a continued role between the sticks, despite the show of faith from the club.

What has been said as Antonin Kinsky receives Tottenham reward?

As per reports from Sky Sports, the shotstopper is close to agreeing a new five-year deal, with an option to extend to 2032.

This comes after a strong rise under De Zerbi, who placed his confidence in Kinsky at the back end of the season, describing him as a "great personality".

Journalist Michael Bridge would relay the news on Sky Sports News, and was asked as to whether this guarantees his spot as number one next season.

Surprisingly, Bridge replied saying: "No."

Kinsky joined from Slavia Prague in 2025, with the pathway to the first team set given his age.

But there are no guarantees at Spurs - something that may not be surprising given how they have operated since the end of the season.

Numbers show why Kinsky is deserving of Roberto De Zerbi's trust

After his horror show in Madrid, Kinsky's time in North London was seemingly over.

What followed under De Zerbi was seemingly remarkable.

Over the course of his seven Premier League appearances, he would keep two clean sheets, while conceding seven times.

The two clean sheets themselves though would be ever so crucial, with one coming as Spurs picked up their first win of 2026 against Wolves, and the second coming on the final day against Everton - denying the Toffees a last minute equaliser.

At Molineux, he kept out 0.6 expected goals, while he helped his side avoid defeat against Leeds, with three saves and 1.59 expected goals prevented.

At 22, his best years are naturally ahead of him, and there is so much potential to work with.

There is a chance that Tottenham could still go in another direction this summer, but the Czech shotstopper has absolutely earned his chance to start the season under De Zerbi.
