Why Archie Gray will be ripping his hair out at Tottenham injury latest
Archie Gray just can't catch a proper break at Tottenham Hotspur.
The 20-year-old has certainly been well-appreciated in North London since his move from Leeds United.
He is now over two years into his spell with the Lilywhites and is seen as one of the captains for Roberto De Zerbi.
That faith hasn't necessarily translated into his performances on the pitch as Spurs are yet to win a Premier League game.
The Englishman has played a role in that, even if he isn't entirely to blame.
Tottenham don't need further injury issues, but the latest is set to take a toll on Gray once again.
Why Archie Gray faces further Tottenham frustration
There has been positive reviews surrounding the 2006-born star since his introduction in N17.
Ange Postecoglou was certainly impressed by the youngster and got consistent use out of him.
The same can be said about De Zerbi, but a theme has always followed the former Leeds gem.
That is the fact that his versatility has been used against him and he has been forced out to right-back.
Gray has now played 47 career matches there which is coming close to the 67 he's played in the middle of the park.
He filled in there against Aston Villa last time around but lost four duels and was dribbled past twice.
The Englishman committed one foul and failed to complete a single block or interception in N17.
Tie that in with the fact he was dispossessed once and it shows that he isn't necessarily comfortable there.
That is why news of Pedro Porro's injury blow will come as frustrating news to Gray on Hotspur Way.
What games will Pedro Porro miss for Tottenham?
The ex-Leeds man's problems have largely been down to fitness issues for the Spain international.
That has continued into the current campaign after the right-back was forced off against Villa with a hamstring injury.
The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Porro is expected to be out for around a month.
The only silver lining for Spurs will be the international break, so the World Cup winner may only miss two games.
The defender may be forced to sit out against Manchester United and Coventry City after the break.
There is hope that he will be fit to feature against Chelsea on 24 October.
It is likely that Gray will be forced to feature there while Porro is absent, something which won't help him.
He wants to feature in midfield and this blow is only going to put the breaks on his chances of doing exactly that.
