Tottenham vs Aston Villa injury latest as 14 could miss Premier League clash
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
It has been far from an ideal start to the season for either side.
The Lilywhites are yet to score a single goal in the Premier League after four games.
Conor Gallagher did find the net against Liverpool, but as part of a 3-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup.
The Villans have faced similar problems having also failed to win a league game so far.
Tottenham are now set to welcome Villa to N17 as we assess the injury latest for both sides.
Tottenham waiting on Sandro Tonali latest
Fitness issues have been a constant source of frustration in North London over the years.
This season has been no different as Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski are all yet to feature.
The problems have continued further for Roberto De Zerbi and Co.
Mykhailo Mudryk suffered a problem almost immediately after signing and he looks set to be out until late October or early November.
Pedro Porro and Sandro Tonali both missed out against Liverpool, but are set to be available to feature in N17.
The latter hasn't had the greatest start to life in N17 having featured across 345 Premier League minutes without scoring or assisting.
There have been some positive signs, however, with his three chances created, 53 line-breaking passes and 89 per cent pass accuracy pointing towards his quality on the ball.
He has also taken five shots, but just needs these chances and strikes to turn to goals sooner rather than later.
Tonali will face a late fitness test before the N17 meeting, but the hosts will be keen to get a glimpse of him once again.
The same can be said of James Maddison, who is also set to join the matchday squad against the Villans.
Will Matty Cash feature for Aston Villa vs Tottenham?
Things may be bad for Spurs, but they are arguably worse at Villa Park.
They have been struck for so many problems this season and they only look set to continue in North London.
They have been without Amadou Onana and Brian Madjo all season, while also being without Leon Goretzka since he signed on a free transfer.
Last time out in the Premier League, Ian Maatsen and Pau Torres were forced off through injury and are set to miss out in N17.
Marco Bizot went off at half-time against Coventry City, while Joao Gomes missed out entirely with muscle tightness.
Matty Cash has been missing since September having started all three of the opening league fixtures.
He certainly isn't liked at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but could have an impact if he plays.
The Poland international contributed to six goals and assists last season while creating 30 chances and completing 26 crosses.
Add to that his 137 duel wins and 186 defensive actions and it is clear to see why he's so well appreciated by the Villans.
It will now be interesting to see if he's available to get a frosty reception from the Spurs fans.
