Cristian Romero ‘to leave Tottenham’ as talks underway with agents
Cristian Romero’s agents are thought to already be preparing their client’s exit from Tottenham.
Ange Postecoglou has a chance to make history with Tottenham by winning the UEFA Europa League.
However, even if the Australian ends the 17-year trophy drought in North London, he is still expected to leave Tottenham at the end of the season.
And it seems as though winning the Europa League and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League also won’t change what happens with Romero.

Romero ‘to leave Tottenham as agents hold Atletico Madrid talks’
It has been widely reported that a move to Atletico Madrid is on the cards for Romero this summer.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes it will be Romero’s agent, rather than the defender himself, holding talks with Atletico.
“He has two years left on his contract with Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“There are seemingly no talks being held about a new deal. Therefore, I think Romero will leave at the end of the season regardless of what happens in the Europa League.
“However, let’s hope he goes out on a high by helping Tottenham win a trophy and return to the Champions League. Not only does that give us more money to reinvest, but it means we can reinvest in players of a higher calibre, with the offer of Champions League football.
“It probably isn’t Romero talking to Atletico Madrid, but rather his agents. That probably happens a lot in football, agents agreeing terms with clubs before two clubs agree a transfer.”

Tottenham could struggle to replace Romero
Romero has struggled with injury issues this season and hasn’t always been available.
However, when the 27-year-old has played, his impact on Tottenham has been immense. Therefore, if Romero does leave at the end of the season, the Lilywhites are going to have a tough time replacing him.
