Bryan King has hailed Tottenham ace Dominic Solanke after the striker scored twice against Aston Villa.

The ex-Spurs scout claims this is the kind of performance he has wanted to see from the club's record signing since the forward arrived in North London.

Solanke scored Spurs' second and third goals as they recorded a 4-1 win in the Premier League against Unai Emery's side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (3 November).

And King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - was particularly impressed by Solanke's first finish.

"This is what we've been waiting for," King said.

"When a player costs that amount of money, you want to see him produce like that in games against quality opposition.

"He's been scoring tap-ins, fine. However, his first goal against Villa was quality. It seems that Solanke has suddenly found a bit of form and it was a great result for Tottenham."

This was arguably Solanke's best performance in a Spurs shirt thus far.

His first goal against Villa was certainly his most impressive for the club as he drifted in behind the defence and dinked the ball beautifully over Emiliano Martínez.

It was a wonderful display and a wonderful result for Ange Postecoglou's side.

However, it wasn't a flawless afternoon, with the North London side picking up more injury concerns.
