View: Victory for Tottenham Academy as schoolboy Rio Bromfield receives international call-up
Tottenham schoolboy Rio Bromfield has been called up to represent the Germany Under-16s national side.
Lilywhite Rose confirmed on Twitter (27 June) that Bromfield was to be called up by Germany for a second time as he gets set to represent the Under-16s.
The left-back had previously been called up by the national side last year to represent Germany at the same age group.
The Tottenham Under-15 posted to his official Instagram story (27 June) to react to the news.
He posted a picture of the players selected, accompanied by the caption: “Happy to get another call-up.” Impressively, Bromfield was one of only two players to be selected for the youth side from a club outside of Germany, and the only one from an English club.
This clearly demonstrates the talent Tottenham have on their hands with the player already on his national side’s radar.
Bromfield has also enjoyed success at club level with Spurs, winning the Valley Cup on two separate occasions.

One of the reasons Ange Postecoglou was brought to Tottenham was to bridge the gap between the academy and the first team.
If the Australian can do this successfully, fans might be seeing the likes of Bromfield burst onto the first-team scene in years to come.
In other Tottenham news, another bright academy star is set to commit his future to the club.
