View: Tottenham Under-21s bounce back from defeat to maintain impressive 100 per cent stat
Tottenham Under-21s made it 11 wins out of 11 in academy football this season with a 2-0 away win against Peterborough in the Premier League Cup on Sunday 12 November.
Spurs’ youngsters have now won all eight of their Premier League Two games and their three Premier League Cup games, with their only defeats this season coming in the EFL Trophy against the senior sides of Peterborough United and Cambridge United.
It represents a remarkable start to the 2023/24 season as they once again demonstrated a strong mentality to bounce back from defeat and maintain their 100 per cent record at Under-21 level.

It was a familiar trio that linked up to give Spurs the lead after 24 minutes on a grey afternoon in Stamford. Like many of the first team’s goals this season, the opener came from a high press forcing the turnover.
Jude Soonsup-Bell and Jamie Donley – who was named on the bench for the first team’s Premier League defeat at Wolves – both hunted down Will Van Lier in the left channel and Soonsup-Bell came out with the ball, before slipping in Donley who spotted the run of Will Lankshear and picked his teammate out with a wonderful cross.
Lankshear was left with an easy tap-in to score his ninth goal in 12 games this season and give the away side the lead.
Nine minutes later Tottenham had doubled their advantage, and it was a fantastic strike which once again arrived off the back of Spurs’ high press. On this occasion, centre-back Alfie Dorrington – who was also on the Spurs bench against Wolves – won the ball on the right and squared it for Rio Kyerematen, who found himself with some space 30 yards from goal.

The midfielder lined up a strike which he angled beautifully into the top corner. Chances came for both sides throughout the second half but neither side could take their opportunities and Spurs were able to see out the win.
Spurs’ Under-21s must now wait until 2 December for their next match when they will take on Manchester United Under-21s in Premier League Two and look to extend their seven-point lead at the top of the division.
