View: Tottenham could regret potentially missing out on talented youngster Alex Scott
Tottenham have previously been linked with a move for Bristol City ace Alex Scott, with the 19-year-old reportedly highly sought after.
The Championship Young Player of the Season is a target for a host of Premier League clubs with Wolves having submitted a £20million bid, as per The Telegraph (15 July).
However, John Percy has reported via Twitter (16 July) that Bristol City have already turned down Wolves’ proposal for Scott as they hold out for £25million, with other Premier League clubs still lurking in the background.
One of those clubs could very well be Tottenham, who have considered the midfielder in recent months. It was reported recently via The Sun (12 July) that Spurs have previously held an interest in Scott and if they don’t act fast on this interest, could end up missing out on the youngster.
It is a move that they could regret not making with Scott already showing incredible potential despite not yet celebrating his 20th birthday.
He has already played over 80 Championship fixtures, which is extremely impressive for a player so young. Last season he featured 42 times in England’s second tier, scoring once and providing five assists as City finished 14th.
Many were impressed with his performance during the club’s FA Cup meeting with Premier League champions Manchester City on 28 February.

During the match, he managed to make 40 touches, despite his side having just 30 per cent possession, and registered a successful passing accuracy of 83 per cent while succeeding with five of the six dribbles he attempted (SofaScore).
After the match City manager Pep Guardiola described Scott as “unbelievable” while speaking in his post-match press conference. It is therefore no mystery why so many clubs are after the talented player.
There is no doubt that Spurs could attract Scott to North London and they could have a real gem on their hands for the future if they do. Although if they’re going to do it, they will need to act fast with interest in the youngster from elsewhere now seriously stepping up.
In other Tottenham news, an out-of-favour defender could earn another chance with the club.
