View: Mikey Moore reminds Tottenham of his precocity as U18s complete comeback win v West Brom

Tottenham talent Mikey Moore got his side on their way to a second-half turnaround during Spurs’ 2-1 victory away at West Bromwich Albion in the Under-18 Premier League.

Under-18s head coach Stuart Lewis took his side to the Black Country for a lunchtime kickoff against the Baggies on Saturday 30 September and left with all three points, even after going behind and ending the game with ten men.

Despite a positive performance during the first half, Spurs’ youngsters went into the break 1-0 down after Adriel Walker dispatched a penalty for the hosts on the half-hour mark.

However, Tottenham rallied and came from behind to secure their fifth straight win in all competitions. Moore got his side on level terms shortly after the break. However, the positivity didn’t last long as the visitors would soon be reduced to ten men, losing Maeson King to a red card just minutes later.

Nonetheless, Lewis’ men responded to the setback immediately and took the lead through Damola Ajayi’s well-taken strike, and they would go on to see out the win while playing some brilliant football.

Moore, who is still just 16 years old, starred throughout the victory and reminded those at the club exactly why they made tying the youngster down to a new deal during the summer a priority.

He could have returned to London with a couple of goals to his name after he hit the post during the first half and saw a late header saved by Ben Cisse.

His goal was well taken, as he finished off a good team move by producing a fine bit of skill and firing past the Baggies’ shot-stopper.

It marked the forward’s fourth goal of the season and third in his previous two outings. In addition to the goals, he has two assists under his belt after five Under-18 Premier League appearances so far this season as his talent continues to shine.

Although a promotion to the first team might be a bit premature, Ange Postecoglou will certainly have half an eye on the winger after his recent displays.

In other Tottenham news, the club are plotting a January move for a Premier League centre-back.
