Tottenham player officially signs new deal until 2028, club delighted
Damola Ajayi has put pen to paper on a new contract at Tottenham, the club confirmed on Thursday.
The North London giants announced on 2 January that the highly-rated attacker has committed his future to them until 2028.
Spurs took to X to express their delight at tying the 19-year-old down to a new deal after naming him on their first-team matchday squad for the first time in their 2-1 UEFA Europa League win against Ferencvaros on 3 October.
Tottenham pleased to seal Damola Ajayi future
Ajayi, who featured in the Under-21s Premier League 2 title-winning side last term, is one of the most exciting prospects in Tottenham’s youth ranks at the moment.
The Premier League club rewarded the winger by handing him his first professional contract midway through last season.
He has since done enough to earn himself a new deal, which will now keep him in North London until 2028.
Ajayi will now be determined to make his senior debut for Ange Postecoglou’s side and it appears it will only be a matter of time before that happens.
That is if Spurs do not send the London-born attacker out on loan for the second half of the season.
Meanwhile, Ajayi is not the only academy prospect Tottenham handed a new contract to on Thursday, with Yusuf Akhamrich also putting pen to paper on a fresh deal.
Like Ajayi, Akhamrich has also committed his future to Spurs until 2028.
