Tottenham moving forward as Under-18 scholar Calum Logan signs his first professional deal in North London
Tottenham continue to show that they are moving in the right direction by tying some of their younger talent down to professional deals at the club.
It has been a wonderful season for Spurs’ Under-18s who currently sit top of the Under-18 Premier League South while also having advanced to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup.
Several young, exciting talents are beginning to emerge from within the club’s youth ranks, and Ange Postecoglou suddenly has a number of players who could soon be on his radar in the coming years.

The North London side recently announced that 18-year-old Damola Ajayi has signed his first professional deal at Hotspur Way (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 18 January) after a stellar season for the Under-18s.
Ajayi has scored seven goals and provided four assists in 13 appearances during the current campaign, and his bright form has been rewarded. It is a message from those above that young players will be shown recognition for their hard work at the club, and Spurs have followed that message up by announcing another professional deal on Friday.
Calum Logan has now become the latest player to pen his first professional deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 19 January), just one day after Ajayi signed his contract.
Logan joined the club’s academy from Ipswich Town at the beginning of 2023 and went full-time as a scholar last summer, likening up with the club’s Under-18s.
The 17-year-old has made seven appearances this season, registering one assist while operating primarily as a left-back.
Postecoglou would be delighted to know that Logan is a versatile defender who can also operate on the left side of a back-two, something which could prove very useful in the coming years.
It has been some time since Tottenham have had a top talent emerge from their academy, with Harry Kane the last obvious example.
While this is by no means a sign that Logan and Ajayi are ready for first-team football, it is definitely a step in the right direction.
