Tottenham make new Luca Williams-Barnett announcement
Luca Williams-Barnett is one of the most exciting young players at Tottenham.
The 16-year-old is the latest academy product to be making waves in North London following an exciting campaign for Tottenham’s youngsters.
Mikey Moore is expected to sign a new contract with Tottenham after his meteoric rise, while Damola Ajayi and Callum Olusesi both contributed to first-team action this season, picking up UEFA Europa League winners’ medals as a result.
Ange Postecoglou publicly called for more from the academy upon his arrival, and his wish looks like it is being granted as Spurs could have another star in the making following a recent announcement.

Williams-Barnett wins Goal of the Season award
Williams-Barnett took the Under-18 Premier League by storm this season, despite still being just 16 years of age.
The England Under-17 international directly contributed to almost half of Spurs Under-18s’ 64 league goals in the most recent campaign, almost exclusively from attacking midfield.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
U18 Premier League | 20 | 19 | 9 | 1,617′ |
FA Youth Cup | 3 | 1 | 3 | 240′ |
And it was announced via Spurs’ academy page on X on Friday (30 May) that Williams-Barnett was the recipient of the Premier League’s Under-18 Goal of the Season award.
The effort, which came against Leicester City’s Under-18s, was truly spectacular, as the youngster took the ball inside his own half and ran past a defender before firing a long-range effort from inside the centre circle over the sprawling goalkeeper.
It was just one of three similar strikes that the teenager managed from distance this campaign, as he continues to develop into a top prospect and prove that he is ready to make a step up to the Under-21s next season, with one eye potentially on the first-team in North London.
Spurs academy is back on track
Spurs’ academy had gone through a significant dip in productivity since Harry Kane broke into the side.
Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp both made an impact at the club, but they didn’t set the Lilywhites alight, while plenty of others suffered false dawns.
The new improved facilities, in tandem with the manager’s willpower to focus on youth, reset the academy and gave it more impetus, the fruits of which are starting to show.
Moore is the epitome of the new age of Spurs youngsters, and with the likes of Williams-Barnett also knocking on the door, the future is looking bright again.
