Tottenham make announcement as left-back officially agrees terms at Hotspur Way
Tottenham have confirmed a contract extension as work continues after winning the Europa League.
It is fair to say that the Lilywhites ended the season in positive fashion by securing silverware with a win against Manchester United in Bilbao.
This saw a dreadful season in the Premier League be forgotten about, but Ange Postecoglou is unlikely to get so lucky next year.
As a result, futureproofing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can only be seen as a positive as the summer window looms in North London.

There is no doubt that the Spurs manager has been excellent at utilising young talent in N17 since coming in from Celtic.

After initially coming through the ranks as a central midfielder, the teenager has thrived as an inverted left-back in the youth side this campaign, prompting a contract offer in N17.
Tottenham confirm new Byrne contract
It can only be a positive to see the Spurs Scholar of the Year confirm his future remains at Hotspur Way after such a positive season.
This could soon see the young defender represent the competition in the first team, especially if Postecoglou is to keep his job in N17.
As a result, the likes of Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence could be looking over their shoulder if the teen suddenly bursts onto the scene.
Whether this will happen in the near future or not, the career of Byrne is certainly looking bright, especially for a player who has so recently changed position.
