Tottenham fans can start to get excited as Callum Olusesi update shared by Fabrizio Romano

Tottenham are enjoying a fine maiden campaign under manager Ange Postecoglou and the future also looks incredibly bright.

A number of talented Spurs youngsters are showing what they are all about and are pushing for first-team inclusion at senior level.

One of those who has caught the eye for the Under-18s side is Callum Olusesi, who has a reputation for being a midfielder with an eye for goal.

Who is Tottenham youngster Callum Olusesi?

Still aged just 17, Olusesi has scored six goals and assisted four more in 14 appearances in the Under-18s Premier League this season.

Many have been excited about the young talent for a while, and he is at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to stay after now agreeing a new contract.

The news was shared by Fabrizio Romano on his X account on Monday (25 March), with the Englishman signing until the summer of 2026.

The hope is that Olusesi stays on long beyond that, of course, and his performances thus far certainly suggesting he is a first-team star of the future.

While not strictly like-for-like, Olusesi’s statistics are very similar to those of senior Spurs star James Maddison, who plays in the same position.

Alfie Devine the example to follow at Tottenham

Maddison has 11 direct goal involvements this campaign – so one more than Olusesi – as the focal point of Postecoglou’s set-up.

Olusesi was a regular for the Under-18s last season, despite still being a schoolboy, which says it all about how talented he is.

He was also a part of the Premier League Cup double-winning side last season and has featured in the Under-19s UEFA Youth Cup.

As a player who is often jumping through age grades, the question now is just how long will it be until he features for the senior side?

Like others before him, such as Alfie Devine when he played and scored for Spurs as a 16-year-old, it is all about timing with Olusesi.

For now, the Lambeth native just needs to focus on doing what he is doing and the rest will take care of itself.

In other Tottenham news, Fabrizio Romano has also shared an update on the future of on-loan RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
