Tottenham gem Luca Williams-Barnett sends message to Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou needs to hand Luca Williams-Barnett a first-team chance at Tottenham.

Postecoglou has proven this season that he is more than happy to give young players a chance.

Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Mikey Moore have all flourished in the first-team, and while a lot of the minutes handed to the young Spurs trio have been as a result of injuries to other players, Postecoglou has at times started the teenagers ahead of more senior options.

Therefore, it is clear that the Australian isn’t afraid to take a chance on youth, even if not every young talented Spurs player is getting the opportunities they deserve.

As a result, Williams-Barnett should be the player next in line for his first-team debut, especially after what he did recently.

Williams-Barnett scores for England’s Under-17s

Williams-Barnett has been in sensational form this term, with suggestions emerging that he could be fast-tracked to the Tottenham first-team next season as a result.

However, after scoring for England’s Under-17s in their 4-0 win over the Netherlands’ Under-17s on Monday (24 February), Williams-Barnett has once again sent a message to Postecoglou that he is ready for a first-team chance now.

Therefore, the Australian could look to hand the forward an opportunity in the coming weeks, especially when rotation is needed in the Premier League as Spurs shift their focus toward the UEFA Europa League.

Postecoglou must give Williams-Barnett a chance at Tottenham

Spurs have very little to play for in the Premier League at the moment, and fans across North London will no doubt be calling for the club to put all their eggs in the Europa League basket.

As a result, first-team players could be rested in league games over the coming weeks, which could open the door for some of the younger players at Spurs to get a chance.

And if that door is being opened, Williams-Barnett should no doubt be the one walking through.
