Scarlett, who has represented England up to Under-21s level, will be buzzing with the next opportunity to show what he’s made of towards a career in the Premier League and potentially even with Thomas Tuchel’s senior setup one day.

Along with Scarlett, Tottenham defender Ashley Phillips, currently on loan at Stoke City, has also been called up.

Scarlett is one of several future Spurs stars

Following a few breakthroughs from Scarlett, he has often taken his chance to impress when injuries and rotation have affected the Tottenham side.

His opening goal against Elfsborg was a key moment for the forward, who collectively made over 60 appearances at EFL clubs Portsmouth, Oxford United and now-Premier League side Ipswich Town.

Alongside his considerable youth international experience – he has already represented England Under-20s on 20 occasions and scored nine goals – Scarlett is actually a very experienced player for his tender age.
