Mikey Moore ‘in serious trouble’ after Tottenham injury update
Mikey Moore might have to wait quite some time for his next Tottenham outing.
Moore has been one of several young players to benefit from Spurs’ injury crisis this season.
While he spent a significant amount of time on the sidelines himself, the 17-year-old has also been handed plenty of chances and has seen himself become a consistent part of the first team.
In recent weeks Postecoglou has been without the likes of Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert, which has allowed Moore plenty of opportunities to feature.
However, Spurs are starting to get all of their injured players back. As a result, Moore might be forced to spend a little bit of time watching on from the sidelines.

Timo Werner available for Tottenham v Manchester City
Speaking ahead of Spurs’ Premier League clash with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday (26 February), Postecoglou has provided an injury update on Werner.
The Australian said [via Football London, 25 February], “He was only really available for the weekend, but because of the make-up of the squad, I put in Sergio Reguilon as another defender. He has trained and is available for tomorrow.”
Johnson and Odobert both returned in the 4-1 Premier League win over Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday (22 February), with Werner the last winger to return from injury.
As a result, Moore’s chances could suddenly become very limited, starting against City.
Mikey Moore 2024/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 7 | 0 | 1 |
UEFA Europa League | 5 | 1 | 1 |
FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Carabao Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
The England youth international was an unused substitute in Spurs’ last two matches, and there is a chance Postecoglou decides to leave the youngster out altogether against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Moore could be axed from Tottenham squad v Manchester City
Of the nine substitutes on the bench against Ipswich, Sergio Reguilón, Pape Matar Sarr, Antonín Kinský and Moore were the players who failed to make it onto the pitch.
Goalkeeper Kinský will no doubt keep his place, while Sarr will likely be part of the squad too. Therefore, if Werner is brought back in, Postecoglou will most likely either axe Reguilón or Moore from the matchday squad.

However, with the likes of Odobert, Werner and Johnson back in the squad, Postecoglou could decide to stick by Reguilón to keep some defenders on the bench, which could spell trouble for Moore.
