Jamie Donley is ‘something special’ as stunning Tottenham loanee footage emerges
Tottenham youngster Jamie Donley has the world at his feet after notching two assists and a goal for Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
Football.London journalist Alasdair Gold posted a video on X (28 January) to show Donley’s second assist, as Azeem Abdulai made it 2-0 just seven minutes into Orient’s eventual 2-0 win over Exeter City.
With his back to goal while out on the right flank, Donley – who got on the scoresheet himself in the 78th minute – drilled a first-time reverse pass straight through to Abdulai, beating four players in the process.
Gold said: “Two Jamie Donley assists in the first half for Orient tonight but this one is something special – the vision and technique.”

“Something special” couldn’t have summed up Donley’s assist for Abdulai’s second goal (of an eventual hat-trick) any better, but the 20-year-old’s entire performance could also be described by those words.
Northern Ireland-born Donley, playing in the number 10 role behind the striker, displayed attributes and a clinical edge which the Spurs first-team has been sorely lacking of late, becoming a key man for the Os.
While a mid-season recall from Brisbane Road to North London is surely out of the question, Donley’s displays will leave Spurs fans hoping to see much more of him in the Lilywhites’ shirt next season.
Injuries have forced Ange Postecoglou’s hand this season when it comes to giving young players game-time, with Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall coming from the periphery to be regulars in his starting XI.
Both Gray and Bergvall are two years younger than Donley, and having cut his teeth in style in an attack-minded EFL frontline, Donley could be a player who proves himself ready to make that step up.
