Irow ‘ready for breakthrough season at Tottenham’ as fresh training image shared

Thomas Frank must decide on the futures of a plethora of young players at Tottenham.

The Spurs squad is already overstocked with senior players, many of whom are expected to depart in the coming weeks as Frank assesses them during pre-season.

The Dane also has an array of youngsters and academy graduates looking to make an impression and stake their claims on the first team.

George Abbott has stood out so far, while Oliver Irow may also be staking his claim following the latest update.

Irow was spotted in first-team training

Tottenham have been proactive this summer in securing their academy graduates to long-term deals as they continue to make a concerted effort to promote talent.

One of the players to have signed an extension with Spurs is Irow, who penned a three-year deal with the club last month.

The 19-year-old has been progressing through the ranks at the club for over a decade and has represented England at Under-17 level.

The midfielder was spotted in first-team training (16 July), proving that Spurs believe in his future and that he may be ready to make his breakthrough at Tottenham this season.

Irow is in safe hands with Frank, who specialises in working with young players and is well-placed to help the teenager develop in N17.

Frank will hold a few surprises at Spurs

Tottenham had the second-youngest squad in the Premier League last season and are actively looking to bring in experienced players, especially with Son Heung-min linked with a potential exit.

Spurs are still expected to conclude the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White before continuing their search for a striker.

With the wealth of options at Frank’s disposal, it is impossible to predict which players the 51-year-old will gravitate towards so early in his tenure.

The pre-season friendly against Reading may provide some indications, but Frank’s eye for talent could reveal a couple of surprising names emerging from the ranks.
