England make official Mikey Moore announcement

Mikey Moore has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Tottenham and has received recognition for that.

Despite what has been a troubled campaign for Tottenham, there have been the occasional positive to emerge from North London.

Moore is certainly towards the top of that list, having impressed almost every time he has stepped on the pitch for Spurs.

Despite that, the 17-year-old may be slightly frustrated that he hasn’t received more minutes, given the situation of the club, though he may be given a chance to showcase his ability on the international stage after the latest announcement.

Moore gets international recognition for Tottenham displays

Ever since making the step up to senior level, Moore has looked more than capable of holding his own on the odd occasion he has featured for Tottenham, with the talented winger announced in the latest England Under-19 squad ahead of the March international break.

Having featured perhaps less than he would have liked as of late, it will provide Moore with the opportunity to show Ange Postecoglou what he has been missing out on by restricting the amount of time he has had on the pitch.

Moore has contributed when given the chance

With many of the senior players failing to stake a claim for their place in the starting 11, Moore can do that over the next few weeks if afforded the chance to start for his country.

England Under-19’s will face off against Wales, Turkey and Portgual over the break, meaning that game time is likely to come thick and fast for Moore.

Postecoglou may have a decision to make at Tottenham

Ahead of their Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar, Tottenham’s season certainly hangs in the balance.

Given their exits from both domestic cups, matched with their poor position in the league, the competition is their only remaining chance of silverware.

Should they fail in their attempts to overcome the 1-0 deficit, the season is finished, which may, in turn, allow Postecoglou to unleash the likes of Moore far more often until the end of the campaign.

Nevertheless, if the 17-year-old can impress on international duty, he may force his way into Postecoglou’s plans regardless of what happens in the Europa League.
