Daniel Levy ‘won’t put phone down’ after Josh Keeley heroics away from Tottenham

Josh Keeley has given Daniel Levy a huge dilemma ahead of his return to Tottenham this summer.

The goalkeeper’s season-long loan move to Leyton Orient last summer has proven to be a huge success, as he has established himself as a key part of Richie Wellens’ team.

Keeley first grabbed headlines after he scored a wonder-goal in the O’s FA Cup victory over Oldham Athletic in November.

He stunned again just days later, as he provided an assist in Leyton’s 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in League One, much to everyone’s surprise.

The 21-year-old even made Spurs proud with an outstanding performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup in February, although he was on the losing side on that occasion.

Keeley heroics lead Leyton to Wembley

On Wednesday (14 May), it emerged that Keeley has earned his first call-up to the Ireland national team.

The youngster marked the occasion by producing another exceptional performance in goal for Leyton, as they locked horns with Stockport County in the second leg of their play-off semi-final.

He made five saves during the game, as Wellens’ side played out a 1-1 draw at Edgeley Park.

With the aggregate score reading 3-3 after 120 minutes of action in the second leg, the tie went into penalties, with Keeley stepping up for Leyton once again.

The Tottenham youth star gave his side the advantage by saving Jack Diamond’s spot-kick.

With Ryan Rydel also missing his penalty, Keeley once again emerged as the hero for Leyton, as they qualified for the play-off final at Wembley.

Levy to make Keeley transfer decision at Tottenham

While Tottenham will certainly be proud of Keeley’s achievements and progress this season, they will also not have gone unnoticed elsewhere.

The Irishman has already shown that he has a future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but with Guglielmo Vicario and Antonin Kinsky already at the club, another loan stint may be the best option for him next season.

Should Leyton emerge victorious in the League One play-off final at Wembley this month, Keeley could be on his way back to Brisbane Road for another temporary spell.

Even if that does not turn out to be the case, it will not be a surprise if several Championship clubs have already expressed their interest in taking the shot-stopper on loan next season.

It would only be a surprise if Levy‘s phone did not stop ringing in the wake of Keeley’s heroics against Stockport.

Ideally, the Spurs chairman would already have several loan offers on his table by now.
