Tottenham winger fully expects to leave this summer, Spurs ready to sell
Tottenham are expecting plenty of exits this summer as Thomas Frank makes his mark.
The Dane is aware of a handful of players, including potential loyalists to Ange Postecoglou, who will be looking beyond North London ahead of the new era.
Frank will spend the next few weeks, including pre-season, deciding who he sees as part of Spurs’ future, and will hope to be able to reinvest money from potential sales to bring in his own targets.
Daniel Levy will, as always, have the final say on any decisions as he looks to maximise the value he can earn from each deal, with one player’s future already seemingly decided.

Bryan Gil headed for the exit door at Spurs

Vice-captain Cristian Romero also appears to be flirting with an exit following Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s public comments stating his interest in signing the World Cup winner this summer.
On the flip side, Spurs still have players on their books who have not featured for the first team for a while, such as Bryan Gil.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
2024/25 (Girona) | 25 | 3 | 3 | 1,734′ |
2023/24 (Spurs) | 11 | 0 | 0 | 201′ |
The winger spent last season on loan at Girona, and as reported by Football London (16 June), Gil fully expects to depart Spurs this summer.
With one year left on the 24-year-old’s contract, Tottenham are also keen for an exit, and are hoping his positive form before his season-ending injury in March will be enough to have attracted interest in the Spaniard.

Tottenham are focusing on Premier League-ready players
Fabio Paratici’s time in North London coincided with a plethora of young signings for Tottenham from foreign leagues, in particular from Mediterranean countries.
They all arrived at Spurs with plenty of promise, but Gil represented a contingent of players who were not physically suited to the rigours of the Premier League.
That left the Lilywhites short of athleticism and ultimately the necessary quality to compete at the top level. As a result, Tottenham seem keen to now target players who are more adept at succeeding in the English top flight, such as Bryan Mbeumo and Eberechi Eze.
