Tottenham transfer update emerges after Destiny Udogie injury blow

Tottenham will have to make do with what they have at the club if they are to turn fortunes around with transfers not imminent in the wake of Destiny Udogie’s injury, according to the Daily Mail.

Via the news outlet’s print edition (3 January, pg75), Udogie is reported to be out until March after an injury sustained against Wolves but any transfer happening does not appear to be imminent, although Spurs are said to be seeking new additions this month.

Spurs have won just once in their last seven following the 2-2 draw with Wolves, with Ange Postecoglou unwilling to adapt his gameplan despite the injury crisis ensuing.

Although, reported in the Daily Mail, it is said that the Australian still has the backing from Spurs’ board but if he is to retain that, he will need to find a way to overcome this bad run of form with the players he currently has at his disposal.

Tottenham need to adapt to the current circumstances

While new additions are certainly needed this month, it seems evident that they may be forced to wait until the latter stages of the transfer window before strengthening their squad.

With that in mind, Postecoglou will have to adapt to suit the current availability of players if he has any ambitions of turning the form around and winning back the trust of supporters who have become growingly frustrated over the last few weeks and rightfully so.

The lack of a plan B has proven detrimental on far too many occasions with players being asked to do things that are simply outside of their remit and Spurs are facing the consequences when it comes to the results earned on the pitch.

Udogie’s injury is another huge blow given his importance to the side but football can be a cruel game and if you aren’t willing to adapt in times of need, you have no chance of achieving success.

All eyes will be on the transfer window over the coming weeks with the knowledge that it could have a huge say in how the remainder of the campaign pans out.
