Tottenham transfer priority emerges in ‘Astonishing’ reveal

Tottenham have made a new forward their priority before the winter transfer window deadline, according to Lyall Thomas.

Spurs are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements as Ange Postecoglou bids to save himself from the sack after a run of one win in ten Premier League matches.

The former Celtic man’s woes have been exacerbated by Dominic Solanke suffering an injury before the 3-2 loss to Everton on Sunday (19 January).

Sky Sports journalist, Thomas responded to a post on X (21 January) asking if he believes the club will make further signings, saying: “Yes. Be astonished if they don’t given the circumstances.

“Forward seems to be the priority (and the hardest word).”

Tottenham to bolster their attack this month?

The Lilywhites are desperate for additions to their firepower in the winter transfer window as Postecoglou attempts to salvage their season.

The North London club currently sit 15th in the Premier League after 22 matches, 16 points behind Chelsea, who are in fourth place.

Given Solanke’s injury and the fact that Richarlison has only just returned from a significant spell on the sidelines, Spurs need another attacker.

That is especially true when Timo Werner is their best option from the bench, the German attacker has not scored in the Premier League this season

They have been linked with a loan move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under new boss Ruben Amorim.

That would be a good move if they can get the Red Devils to pay the majority of Rashford’s wages, which could happen if they leave it until later in the window.

This is certainly one to watch.

In other Tottenham news, the squad were shocked by Postecoglou’s treatment of captain Son Heung-Min.
