Tottenham transfer bid fails yet again in Deadline Day blow as agreement reached

Tottenham have failed to sign Axel Disasi as a deal has fallen through, according to Ben Jacobs.

The broadcaster reported on 3 February that a move for the France international is off again despite reigniting interest earlier on deadline day.

Work was done to bring the 26-year-old to North London after Disasi refused to agree to a deal last week, having already agreed terms with Aston Villa.

Now it appears that a switch to Villa Park could be on the cards with an agreement now in place ahead of a loan move [Matt Law].

Tottenham bid to sign Axel Disasi collapses again

There is no doubt that the Lilywhites are in desperate need of a centre-back, especially after Radu Dragusin suffered a season-ending injury against Elfsborg.

As a result, it would have made sense to bring in Disasi, especially if the Frenchman isn’t wanted at Stamford Bridge anymore.

There may not be any better chances for the Lilywhites to bring in another defensive option with such limited time remaining in the window.

With just hours to go until the 11pm deadline, it will be interesting to see if a centre-back will come in and hopefully join Mathys Tel in N17.
