Tottenham sweet on Anan Khalaili - Two Premier League rivals in the hunt
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Union Saint-Gilloise starlet Anan Khalaili.
The 21-year-old joined Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2024, having started his career with Israeli side Beitar Haifa.
Born in Haifa, Khalaili eventually signed for Maccabi Haifa in 2014, and would go on to spend the best part of a decade with them.
Khalaili has been shining in Belgian football over the last two seasons, with a stellar 2025-26 campaign putting his name firmly on the radar of top European clubs.
But with Premier League football secured and Roberto De Zerbi ready to stamp his authority on the squad, Tottenham could be an attractive proposition to the young winger.
However, if Spurs are to land his signature this summer, then they may well have to fend off some serious rival interest.
Tottenham express interest in Anan Khalaili
Tottenham struggled in attack for the majority of last season, scoring just 48 Premier League goals in 2025-26.
As such, sharpening their cutting edge in attack will no doubt be a priority for Spurs over the coming weeks, and that may well take them to Belgium.
That's because a report from The Athletic has claimed that Tottenham have registered their interest in Union Saint-Gilloise star Khalaili.
It's reported that fellow Premier League rivals Bournemouth and Newcastle United are also keen on the Israeli international.
Meanwhile, Serie A giants Napoli have also been credited with an interest in Khalaili, who is contracted with Saint-Gilloise until the summer of 2028, with the Belgians holding a 12-month extension clause too.
Crucially, however, it's reported that Khalaili doesn't have a release clause in his contract, which depending on Saint-Gilloise's potential asking price, could work for or against Tottenham.
What is Khalaili's profile?
Predominantly a right-sided player, Khalaili can and has operated from the left flank during his time in Belgium as well.
Both under Sebastien Pocognoli and then David Hubert this past season, Union pretty much exclusively played with a back three flanked by wing-backs.
Khalaili routinely started as their right wing-back last term, with his six goals and six assists from 52 appearances across all competitions showing his ability to get forward and play high up the pitch.
As per FotMob, he created 61 chances, completed 49 successful dribbles, played 96 accurate long balls and took 107 touches in the opposition box in the Belgian Pro League last season.
Meanwhile, the 16-cap Israeli international also won 188 ground and 60 aerial duels, made 69 tackles, 199 recoveries and won 22 possessions in the final third respectively.
In short, Tottenham would seemingly be getting a player with relentless energy, as well as someone who can be a key contributor at both ends of the pitch.
