Tottenham ‘make approach’ for Chelsea forward, exit door is open

Tottenham have made an approach to sign Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku according to TBR journalist Graeme Bailey.

Bailey, via the TBR website [1 February] reported that Spurs have made enquiries into the availability of Nkunku as they seek some attacking reinforcements.

Chelsea are understood to be happy to sanction his exit with the Frenchman frustrated at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham need to ramp up winter transfer business

Given the dismal season Spurs are enduring, the transfer window was highlighted as the potential turning point but as of yet, Tottenham are yet to make any season-changing additions.

Nkunku has the potential to be just that, similar to Garnacho but until the signature is on the dotted line, concerns will still be present and rightfully so.

Spurs need more quality in all areas of the pitch and the lack of goal threat in the final third has been one of the biggest reasons behind the regression this season.

With just two days remaining until the 3 February deadline, time is running out for Spurs to seal that injection of quality to their side and it could prove costly come the end of the campaign.
