Tottenham in striker transfer battle with Premier League rivals amid £20m reveal

Tottenham are interested in signing Evann Guessand from Nice, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported via their website on 14 January that Spurs are among the Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the striker as they look to strengthen their attack, with West Ham and Bournemouth also in the mix.

Luring the 23-year-old away from Nice may prove difficult as he only signed a new contract with them in August, but offers in excess of £20million may tempt the French club to sell.

Evann Guessand could be Randal Kolo Muani alternative at Tottenham

It is well known by now that Tottenham are actively pursuing a deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window [L’Equipe].

However, the North London giants face competition from Juventus in the race for the France international’s signature, meaning there are no guarantees that they will succeed in the pursuit.

Therefore, it makes sense for Daniel Levy to shortlist potential alternatives for Kolo Muani and Guessand could be such an option.

Like Kolo Muani, Guessand is comfortable playing across the front three, making him an attractive option to Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs, though, need to be wary of interest from West Ham and Bournemouth, who could both offer him more playing time than them.

Both clubs are desperately on the hunt for a new striker after long-term injuries to Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio, Evanilson and Enes Unal.

Postecoglou, meanwhile, has Son Heung-min, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson as his preferred attacking trio.

In other Tottenham news, this league-winning manager has emerged as a shock candidate to replace Postecoglou.
