Tottenham in Julian Brandt transfer twist as Borussia Dortmund exit mooted
Tottenham are interested in Borussia Dortmund ace Julian Brandt ahead of the January transfer window, according to FootballTransfers.
The news outlet reports [21 December] that the North Londoners have set their sights on acquiring the services of the Germany international in January.
Spurs are on a tight budget, and the 28-year-old could be an affordable option, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2026.
Timo Werner has been tipped to depart the Lilywhites in the coming month, and Ange Postecoglou’s team could strengthen their squad with Brandt, who the Bundesliga outfit are open to selling.

The German’s versatility makes him a compelling option for the North Londoners to pursue.
At Dortmund, the 28-year-old has been deployed in multiple positions, from the midfield to the attack.
Brandt has been a reliable player for BVB over the years, and in the current campaign, he has two goals and five assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
Postecoglou has shown that he’s not afraid to experiment at Tottenham, playing Dejan Kulusevski in the engine room this season.
The Australian head coach has struggled with injuries in his squad, which has led to inconsistency in the results.
Werner hasn’t been at his best in the current campaign, leaving Postecoglou frustrated at his lack of options in the attack.
While the Lilywhites have quality individuals in their team, the lack of depth in the squad leaves much to be desired.
If Spurs were to buy Brandt, he could provide cover in both midfield and attack, but it remains to be seen how much Dortmund will ask for in January.
