Tottenham firmly in running to sign Matheus Cunha amid £60m+ exit news
Tottenham are looking to sign a striker in the upcoming summer transfer window and are firmly in the race to sign Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.
Cunha publicly stated his desire for a new challenge, indicating he is ready to leave Wolves in the summer. Several suitors are expected to follow him after his comments and Spurs are one of the sides reportedly keen on the 25-year-old.
Tottenham will need to go striker shopping in the summer if they decide to cut their losses on Richarlison and sell the Brazilian, who has underperformed since his £60million move from Everton.
Ange Postecoglou’s side has struggled in front of the goal and adding Cunha to their squad could resolve their goalscoring issues.

Tottenham in Cunha race
The former Atletico Madrid striker has attracted the attention of several clubs through his impressive performances this season. Cunha has netted 13 goals in 26 Premier League outings and is Wolves’ top scorer.
Cunha signed a new deal at Molineux in January but has insisted on a release clause to be put in the deal. According to the Mirror, the 25-year-old has a £62.5million release clause in his contract which could get activated amid interest from several clubs.
With Wolves’ Premier League status not yet confirmed, there were expectations that the West Midlands club would reduce the price but they will not budge from their £62.5million release clause.
According to Gambling.com, Tottenham remain in the race to sign the Brazil striker. Spurs have 4/1 odds of landing Cunha with Arsenal being the bookmakers’ favourites to sign the 25-year-old.

A huge upgrade on current striker options
Although Spurs are not the favourites to land the Wolves forward, they are admirers and in the race. Liverpool, Arsenal and even Manchester United are keen on Cunha so Spurs will have to battle these sides if they want to acquire the Brazilian’s services.
The Lilywhites’ current striking options are Richarlison and Dominic Solanke, both of whom have struggled to score goals this season. The duo has a combined goal tally of just nine Premier League goals, which has affected Spurs’ results.
Richarlison could be sold in the summer and Postecoglou will need a reliable goalscoring option next season. Cunha could prove to be that man but signing him would not be easy amid high competition and hefty price tag.
