Tottenham expert explains why Djed Spence exit links are legit as Everton laughed off
Tottenham star Djed Spence's potential move to Inter Milan could happen - but a move to Everton should never be taken seriously.
That is the verdict from Spurs expert John Wenham, after reports emerged from Italy.
Now that is over, the speculation has begun again, amid questions about his place in Roberto De Zerbi's plans.
The Italian side are the latest to be thrown into the mix, alongside the Lilywhites' Premier League rivals Everton.
Wenham believes that there is something which could convince the 25-year-old to join the Nerazzurri.

Wenham thinks that his previous spell in Italy could be the difference maker in a potential destination.
The Lilywhite Rose explained why the links should be taken seriously, rather than being brushed off.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: "What's interesting about that, normally you'd just write that off, but Spence actually had a year or half a year on loan at Genoa in Italy, and seemed to enjoy the experience.
"Therefore, I give it a lot more credence than I normally would this sort of rumour.
"I'm pleased to see the reported price tag has gone right up, even for the Italian teams. They're talking about £30million, and Tottenham wanting £42m.
"I've said all along, I never saw him going to Everton because they only spend 50 pence on right-backs. They have done for three decades, so I never ever saw that happening.
"Inter Milan could happen, and I think that would be a prestigious and good move for Djed, but from my point of view, we should never be selling him."
Why Spence exit could actually make sense for Tottenham
Spence has found it difficult to convince De Zerbi that he is a starter in N17.
He featured six times but started just two games in the Italian boss' seven matches in charge, which suggests that he does not rate him too highly.
He is behind Pedro Porro, who has just been given a bumper new contract in his preferred right-back position.
He is also behind Andy Robertson and Destiny Udogie at left-back, so an exit for a large fee may not be all that bad for Tottenham.
