Tottenham breaking transfer news: Axel Disasi deal back on with Chelsea
Tottenham’s bid to sign Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea has been resurrected, according to Matt Law.
The Daily Telegraph journalist reported via X (3 February) that a bid to take the defender on loan could be back on but it will require a final agreement from the player himself.
Fabrizio Romano reported (2 February) that a deal between the two London clubs had been agreed but Disasi was not happy to accept the deal, having already agreed terms with Aston Villa.
Axel Disasi to Tottenham back on?
Although Spurs have announced the signing of Kevin Danso, it seems as though Ange Postecoglou is keen to get another defender through the door before the transfer deadline.
Disasi may not be the player who will set the world alight if he joins the Lilywhites but he is certainly a solid addition to the side and it makes sense that Spurs are looking to complete this deal.
The only concern is the attitude of the player towards the club. The 26-year-old has already rejected a move to North London once due to his preference being a move to Aston Villa.

However, Chelsea were not keen to sanction that move as they would be helping one of their Champions League rivals by doing so.
While Disasi may reluctantly take the deal at Tottenham now he knows a move to the West Midlands is off, you do have to wonder whether Postecoglou will be able to talk him round as he did with Mathys Tel to ensure all his squad members are fully invested in Spurs’ success.
