‘Son exit to be confirmed at Tottenham’ after Sky Sports News transfer update
Son Heung-min’s near-decade-long stay at Tottenham could now be nearing an end.
Lifting the UEFA Europa League might have been the final hurrah for Son at Tottenham after a disappointing individual season.
The South Korean has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with suggestions that Son could cash in on a big-money offer.
And after a recent Sky Sports News transfer update, it appears as though Son’s exit might be close.

Tottenham step up their pursuit of Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham will look to reinforce their frontline to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season.
With Thomas Frank set to succeed Ange Postecoglou in North London, this could present the Lilywhites with an opportunity to hijack Bryan Mbeumo’s potential move to Manchester United.
However, Mbeumo isn’t the only Premier League forward on Spurs’ radar.
As reported by Lyall Thomas (9 June), Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Bournemouth’s Semenyo, who is also admired by United despite the Red Devils’ attempts to sign Mbeumo.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Antoine Semenyo | 42 | 13 | 7 | 3.562′ |
Son Heung-min | 46 | 11 | 12 | 3.189′ |
There has been a growing sense at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that Son might not be able to continue at the top level in Europe.
As a result, Spurs’ increased interest in Semenyo might suggest that Son’s exit is now inevitable at Tottenham.
However, if Spurs are going to sign Semenyo, they will need to act fast amid interest from Old Trafford.
Tottenham should go all out for Semenyo
Spurs are in desperate need of a fresh option on the left, and Semenyo may be the answer.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 37 Premier League appearances this season, and is a versatile and explosive forward who his known for his directness on and off the ball.
Semenyo can blitz past defenders using his pace, but also offers ample technical skill when dribbling around opposition players and creating for his teammates.
Therefore, with the ability to score and create across the front line, there may not be a better market opportunity for Spurs this summer.
