Radu Dragusin agent speaks out as Napoli transfer update emerges at Tottenham
Radu Dragusin’s agent has revealed that the Tottenham defender is not interested in a move away amid interest from Napoli.
This comes after the Serie A giants were credited with interest in the 22-year-old centre-back, with several Italian sides keeping an eye amid a lack of game time for Spurs [Sunday Mirror, 20 October].
Dragusin has only played 196 minutes of football under Ange Postecoglou this season, even being unable to take his opportunity in the Europa League after being sent off against Qarabag within 10 minutes.
Speaking to CalcioNapoli24 on Tuesday (22 October), Florin Manea said: “I haven’t spoken to anyone and I don’t think Tottenham want to let him go. Radu is focused and wants to play his chances with Spurs.
“I also saw the news, but – I repeat – I didn’t hear anyone. We like that so many teams follow him, but I also told the others who called me that – to date – we are not interested.”
Radu Dragusin to remain at Tottenham as agent speaks out
While Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are always going to be Postecoglou’s first-choice centre-back partners, the manager cannot afford to lose Dragusin in January.
If injury strikes again or one of the players is sent off, the Romanian will be called upon to deputise in defence, and there is no reason why Spurs should not trust him despite his displays so far.
The 22-year-old is a mainstay on the international stage, becoming a regular for Romania and performing well at Euro 2024 in Germany, but he cannot argue with being back-up to van de Ven and Romero.

Utilising Archie Gray or Ben Davies in the centre of defence cannot be a long-term fix as a replacement for either of the aforementioned duo. Dragusin will be given his chance if he remains patient.
Players will always be linked with moves away if they are struggling for game time, but after what his agent said recently, a January exit does not look likely.
