Paratici in talks to sign two new players for Tottenham already with return lined up

Tottenham could line up a sensational return for Fabio Paratici with him being involved in this summer’s recruitment planning.

Paratici was handed a two-and-a-half-year suspension in January 2023 after his former club Juventus were found guilty of false accounting in the Italian court.

As a consequence of the hearing, Paratici resigned as Tottenham’s managing director role. Despite his resignation, he is on good terms with chairman Daniel Levy and has been informally involved with the club in their recruitment process.

With Paratici’s ban set to end in a few months, the Italian could make a sensational return to Tottenham in a formal position, and he has already started working for their summer recruitment.

Paratici involved in midfielder discussions

While Paratici remained away from holding any formal office during his ban, he still was thought to be involved in the acquisitions of Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, and Radu Dragusin.

Milan have been one of the top-touted destinations for Paratici as the Serie A club have discussed plans to name the 52-year-old as the club’s sporting director. However, Milan’s efforts could go in vain as a return to Tottenham could be on the cards.

According to reports, Milan remain favourites to land Paratici but also face competition from Spurs as the former Juventus chief met with Daniel Levy recently.

According to TEAMtalk, Paratici has been involved in discussions with Spurs regarding the midfield recruitment in the summer. Torino’s Samuele Ricci and Atlanta’s Ederson have been put on Spurs’ radar by Paratici.

Midfield has been an area of concern for the North London side and Paratici has paid attention to the shortcomings of the team, which is why Ricci and Ederson have been considered to improve the squad quality.

Tottenham’s crucial summer

The Lilywhites are in for a crucial summer of squad planning as they look to avoid a repeat of the disappointing season.

With a number of players set to be sold and a squad rebuild on the cards, Spurs need an experienced figure like Paratici at the helm to oversee transfers and scout players. Having Paratici back at the club will prove to be highly beneficial to improve the squad in the summer and help Spurs regain their grip on the top six. The Italian is one of the best in the world at what he does and Spurs’ recruitment could hugely benefit from his return.

Should Paratici make a return to N17, Spurs can expect to have an upper hand when scouting the market and signing players.
