Pape Matar Sarr is odd one out as £30m Tottenham exit 'great business'
Pape Matar Sarr could become a casualty of Tottenham Hotspur's business so far this summer.
That is the view of Lilywhites expert John Wenham, who has pointed out the new midfield depth that Roberto De Zerbi now has.
Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray are competing with the Senegal star for a berth in the side.
Tottenham News has already covered the signings of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes in-depth, which only adds to Sarr's insecurities.
Spurs are understood to be reluctant to let the 23-year-old depart this summer, and it would take a bigger offer to change that view.
However, Wenham has now predicted the amount which would see their stance change.
How much would it take for Tottenham to sanction Pape Matar Sarr exit?
Wenham believes it would take an offer between £25million and £30m for the N17 side to part ways with the 42-cap international.
The Lilywhite Rose owner thinks that it would be a great piece of business if they could manage to earn that fee.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: "I just can't see Pape Sarr getting any football at Tottenham next season.
"The starters in midfield are going to be Tonali and Fernandes, then you've got Rodrigo Bentancur, who De Zerbi obviously likes and played a lot last season.
"You've then got Conor Gallagher, who the manager also likes and played a lot last season, Bergvall and Gray are still there.
"I just see Sarr as the odd man out, and it'd be sensible for him to move, hopefully Tottenham can get a deal around £25-30m, which would be great business."
Why Sarr should be moved on this summer
Sarr is a prime candidate for an exit, because he played just four times under the Italian.
None of those appearances came in the starting line-up, showing exactly how little faith De Zerbi has in him.
Given the significant additions in midfield and the fact that such a fee would allow them to make more moves to strengthen the squad, it is a no brainer for Spurs.
If they can't generate a decent price, then they can keep him around, but if a solid offer comes in, a sale can't be ruled out for the Senegalese ace.
