Mathys Tel transfer: Tottenham make late request to Bayern Munich

Tottenham have asked Bayern Munich for a buy option for Mathys Tel, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The renowned Italian journalist claimed (3 February) that Spurs have requested the option to sign the Frenchman permanently at the end of his loan spell.

The report added that a medical has been completed and the German club will decide soon on the proposal with the 11 pm deadline rapidly approaching.

The 19-year-old had originally rejected a move to the North London outfit but made a dramatic U-turn on deadline day.

Tottenham finally get Tel deal sorted

It seems like Ange Postecoglou will finally get the attacking reinforcement that he wanted in the winter transfer window.

Daniel Levy had flew out to Germany to seal a deal for the promising French talent but failed to convince him to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, the former Rennes ace had a dramatic change of heart and the deal was resurrected with just hours to go on the final day of the window.

Tottenham, Mathys Tel

For the player, it is a fresh start after falling out of favour under Vincent Kompany and making just two Bundesliga appearances as a result.

For the Lilywhites, they finally add some firepower in attack given Dominic Solanke and Richarlison’s injury issues and Timo Werner’s dismal form.

A transfer window in which they have brought in three high-quality players should be regarded as a positive one and should allow Postecoglou to turn the season around.
