Matheus Cunha transfer: Tottenham ready for bargain agreement after update

Tottenham are eyeing a bargain transfer for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha after recent new developments.

Spurs have been monitoring Cunha’s situation at Wolves as they sit near the relegation zone.

Vitor Pereira has been tasked with keeping their Premier League status at Molineux after Gary O’Neil’s departure earlier this season.

The North London outfit are in somewhat of a bother themselves as pressure grows on Daniel Levy to sack Ange Postecoglou after recent poor results.

Cunha’s exit from Wolves is inevitable in the coming months amid interest from the Lilywhites, according to AS.

The news outlet reports (10 February) that Spurs could negotiate Cunha’s £60million release clause if the West Midlands outfit are relegated, which could prove to be a bargain.

While the Brazilian attacker recently signed a contract extension until 2029, the door remains open for his exit from Molineux.

Matheus Cunha transfer needed at Spurs

Dominic Solanke’s injury has left Spurs scrambling, with Richarlison picking up another injury a few weeks after his return.

The North London outfit signed Mathys Tel in the winter transfer window, but the Bayern Munich loanee will evidently need some time to adjust to Postecoglou’s style of play.

Son Heung-min was an ever-reliable forward for the Lilywhites, but even the South Korean has struggled to make an impact this season.

Dejan Kulusevski has also been underwhelming at Spurs for some time now after a positive start, with Brennan Johnson also on the sidelines.

The North London outfit have been in dire form, failing to pick up consistent wins in the Premier League.

Postecoglou’s team have also been knocked out of the two domestic cups in a matter of days, rightfully leading to scrutiny of the Lilywhites’ mismanagement.

While Cunha would arguably add much-needed quality to Spurs’ forward line, it will be interesting to see whether he wants to move to a side that is currently nowhere near the Champions League places.

Levy will undoubtedly need to be more proactive than his usual self to beat the host of teams in the race for the former Atletico Madrid ace.
