Manchester United ready to sign ‘Top’ Tottenham talent, contract offer ignored

Manchester United are prepared to make a transfer swoop at Tottenham in the summer.

The Red Devils are preparing to face the North London outfit in the Europa League final after a terrible season for both sides.

Champions League football is on the line in Bilbao despite Ange Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim’s men sitting just above the Premier League relegation zone.

With the final just a week away, United appear to have made an approach to take a talented ace away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Manchester United want Tottenham contract reject

The Lilywhites are preparing to face the Old Trafford club in arguably the biggest night since the Champions League final.

It is fair to say that the result of this final clash will dictate the direction that the transfer window goes under the Australian head coach.

With that being said, Postecoglou could once again be set to rely on young talent next campaign, just as he has with Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray this season.

However, it does now appear unlikely that 16-year-old starlet Dexter Oliver will stick around to discover to see if any first-team opportunities come through.

Lilywhite Rose reported on 14 May that the “top academy talent” hasn’t signed the two-year scholarship that has been offered to him in North London.

As a result, the midfielder could be set for a move to Manchester United or Manchester City, who are both attempting to sign him ahead of the summer.

This potentially comes off the back of the teenager signing with new agency Roc Nation Sports in March.

Tottenham to lose Oliver this summer

It does feel likely that the teen midfielder is going to depart at the end of the season, regardless of any attempts from Spurs.

There has already been an offer on the table for many weeks that hasn’t tempted Oliver into agreeing to a fresh deal in N17.

This will likely see him move on to United or City and leave the Lilywhites without one of their brightest academy stars.

It will be interesting to see if this will bother Postecoglou, especially after giving another star talent like Mikey Moore a general lack of first-team minutes this season.
