Luka Vuskovic set for Tottenham chance, what's happened is 'ridiculous'
Luka Vuskovic could be set to feature regularly for Tottenham Hotspur next season, according to the Lilywhites' former scout.
The Croatia international has faced a strange start to his career in N17 since signing from Hajduk Split, but recruitment expert Bryan King has exclusively told Tottenham News it could be set to get up and running.
He immediately went out on loan to Belgian side Westerlo after his move was confirmed, and he had an excellent campaign in the Pro League before joining Hamburg for the most recent season.
The 19-year-old went on to be one of the best defenders in the whole Bundesliga despite his side finishing in 13th place.
That has sparked plenty of excitement in North London, but his future doesn't appear to be totally secure.
Vuskovic has been linked with an N17 exit, but could be set for his chance as another sale prepares to go through.
Luka Vuskovic looks set to replace Cristian Romero at Tottenham
The teenager has been excellent in Germany this campaign and has attracted interest as a result.
That has most recently seen Brighton table a £30million bid for the defender in the past week.
The Seagulls didn't get very far as Spurs instantly rejected the bid as it was massively short of their valuation.
It has been suggested that Vuskovic would welcome a move away from N17, but King believes he could be set to replace Cristian Romero as he looks set to leave.
King said: "It will be interesting to see what happens with Vuskovic.
"I think Tottenham will want to bring him back and get him in the side, especially if a deal for Romero goes through.
"He's played more international games than he's played for Tottenham, which is ridiculous. He's big, strong and he's had a great season in the Bundesliga.
"It will be perfect to bring him back now, especially with the World Cup. Tottenham will do everything they can to keep him because they want him as part of their first team."
Romero exit blow to be softened
It does look as if Romero is going to be on his way out and that could be the perfect smokescreen to keep hold of the Croatian.
It would be a blow to lose the Spurs captain, but it does appear that they have an able deputy ready and waiting.
That has to be the case as Vuskovic has already showcased his desire to leave North London at this early stage of the summer.
If Roberto De Zerbi can make some sort of assurances over minutes and development moving forward it could prove to be the best business Spurs do for a while.
