Levy ‘could end Son’s Tottenham career’ after bombshell Kaveh Solhekol update

Son Heung-min capped his glittering Tottenham career by captaining his side to European glory.

The skipper cemented his name into Spurs folklore and was central to the North Londoners’ wild celebrations since they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final in Bilbao last week.

Despite the euphoric end to the campaign, it has been one of Son‘s least remarkable seasons in a Tottenham shirt from a personal point of view.

The South Korean icon did not hit the lofty heights of years gone by, as well as suffering from various niggling injuries that affected his form.

With Son turning 33 this summer, questions over his long-term role at Spurs have arisen, with the latest update casting further doubt.

Leroy Sane rejects Bayern contract amid Tottenham interest

Tottenham have been blighted by injuries this season, which left them short of being able to compete on multiple fronts as they recorded their lowest ever finish in the Premier League.

They signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich in January to combat their lack of available options in forward areas, and could look to raid the Bavarian club once more this summer.

According to a report by Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol (28 May), Leroy Sane has rejected a contract extension from the German champions amid interest from Tottenham.

Bayern have offered the former PFA Young Player of the Year to the Lilywhites, with the forward keen on a move to the capital should he return to the Premier League.

Sane has had a mixed season at Bayern, often being rotated in and out of the starting lineup by Vincent Kompany as his side reclaimed the Bundesliga trophy.

He remains a dangerous player with plenty of Premier League experience from his days with Manchester City, and could be one of the marquee signings Spurs fans hope Daniel Levy will deliver.

Son still has a lot to offer Spurs

Son’s dribbling powers and ability to terrorise defences may appear to be waning, yet his output for Tottenham this season still saw him notch 11 goals and 12 assists across all competitions.

The skipper also remains a hugely popular figure amongst the club and wider fanbase, with Spurs destined to travel to his home country to face Newcastle in pre-season.

While the Londoners may look to players like Sane to take on some of the burden on the left-hand side, their iconic captain is still capable of producing big moments, so they may opt to utilise him more sparingly.
