Johan Lange now in advanced talks for Tottenham transfer despite Postecoglou sack

Yves Bissouma looks set to leave Tottenham this summer.

Although he proved to be a vital part of the Europa League campaign, which ended in a trophy, the midfielder’s Premier League minutes dropped.

With just one year left on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Bissouma’s fate now looks likely to lie elsewhere.

Tottenham in advanced talks over Bissouma exit

Having made just 16 starts in 28 Premier League appearances this season, Bissouma’s role at Tottenham looks to be decreasing.

While the Lilywhites will want increased squad depth next term to cope with the demands of Champions League football, they also can’t afford to carry anyone who isn’t at the top of their game.

Bissouma’s Premier League starts significantly reduced this season.

With a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League table also affecting Tottenham’s financial position, being smart in their business and cashing in on players before they are free agents also makes sense.

Both Leeds United and Everton have been credited with interest in the 28-year-old, although reports from Turkiye suggest that he could be set to go abroad.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik (7 June), Fenerbahce have made “significant progress” in the hope of securing his services.

The report states that Jose Mourinho’s side would look to strike a loan deal with an obligation to buy, meaning the money wouldn’t come straight through.

Nevertheless, Spurs are said to be open to the offer and negotiations between the two clubs have reached an advanced stage.

Discussions are still ongoing about the figure Fenerbahce will have to pay for the obligatory option.

Tottenham to start new era with Thomas Frank

Daniel Levy looks set to replace Postecoglou with Thomas Frank this summer, as a new era prepares to get underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The new manager won’t be able to completely overhaul the squad at once, but with Bissouma’s decreasing involvement and current contract situation, an exit does seem the more likely option.

Furthermore, with Levy prepared to make a big financial move to bring Bryan Mbeumo into Tottenham, offloading the midfielder rather than letting him see out his contract would help to aid such signings.

Striking a deal with Fenerbahce would mean Spurs have to wait a year before seeing money from the agreement on Bissouma, but they may prefer that to selling him to a rival Premier League club.

Settling on a financial obligation will surely be the factor that dictates whether this will be a move that happens.
