Borussia Dortmund make approach to sign Tottenham fan favourite – Sky Sports

Borussia Dortmund have looked to pry Tottenham’s star away from North London ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The German outfit have not hit their usual heights this campaign, currently sitting 25 points behind former Spurs striker Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich.

They will hope to close the gap and are already looking towards a summer rebuild, targeting a Tottenham starlet to boost their ranks.

They will be well aware of the difficulty of negotiating with Daniel Levy, but with the club’s own ambitious summer plans, they feel a deal could be more likely.

Spurs winger on Dortmund’s radar

Dortmund have an excellent reputation for scouting and fostering young talent and have set their sights on Tottenham‘s most high-profile academy graduate.

According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Niko Kovac’s side are closely monitoring Mikey Moore and have added him to their shortlist.

It aligns with the club’s strategy of targeting young English attacking players in recent years, such as Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

Moore has had a breakthrough season with Spurs, with fans revelling in his Europa League performances in the group stages.

The England Under-19 international unfortunately contracted a virus during his best run of form, with his return to fitness coinciding with key players recovering from their injuries.

He has remained part of the squad, coming on to replace the injured Kulusevski in Tottenham’s last league game against West Ham (11 May).

Levy must hold on to Moore

Spurs’ famed academy has had a dip in recent years, with Ange Postecoglou commenting early in his tenure that it must reignite it’s productivity.

The club was even docked Europa League squad spots this season for not having enough club-trained players on their roster.

Callum Olusesi and Damola Ajayi have also stepped up from the youth team to make cameo appearances in Europe, but Moore’s impact has been infinitely more significant.

Tottenham need not look too far in the past to see what a difference an academy graduate can make to the side’s fortunes and must ensure that their brightest spark is retained at all costs.
