Yves Bissouma exit ‘just days away’ as £17.2m transfer ready to go at Tottenham

Tottenham could revamp their midfield this summer with Yves Bissouma headed for the exit door.

Bissouma has been an inconsistent performer throughout his time in North London, but did play the entire 90 minutes in the Europa League final victory.

Tottenham are looking for fresh ideas in midfield, and the 28-year-old could be allowed to leave to make space for a new signing in the position.

Thomas Frank needs to bolster his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League, and one European rival may look to take Bissouma off his hands.

Juventus interested in Bissouma

Bissouma signed a four-year contract when he moved to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022, but he could now depart England with just one year to go on his deal.

Serie A could be his next destination, and the Daily Mail (July 9) have now reported that Juventus are interested in signing the central midfielder as they return to the Champions League as well.

Juventus are willing to pay up to £17.2m to get the deal done, while they are also interested in former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka.

Director Damian Comolli is said to have a strong relationship with Tottenham, who found success when they signed Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from the Old Lady in 2022.

Bissouma has made 100 appearances for Spurs, but the final in Bilbao looks likely to be his last as Spurs seek out a quick resolution to his future, and a deal could be wrapped up within days if all sides are keen.

Spurs should sell Bissouma this summer

With Pape Matar Sarr, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall all developing in midfield, Spurs are well stocked for the future, but could still look for an instant upgrade.

Selling Bissouma would mean Spurs could earn most of their money back for him, while also potentially replacing him with a better player.

Keeping him when he is not a guaranteed starter, only to let the Malian leave for free next summer, would be poor business when planning the squad for the coming years.

Spurs could even look to sign Douglas Luiz from Juventus in a swap deal, in what would be a significant upgrade to their midfield options, and many would happily sacrifice Bissouma if this is a possibility.
