Wrexham now in talks to sign Tottenham star after Ange Postecoglou exit

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham exit has caused chaos for Spurs’ transfer plans.

The Australian was sacked on Friday despite the transfer window recently opening.

While Thomas Frank has been linked with the Tottenham job, the saga has no doubt delayed any potential signings Spurs were looking to make.

On top of this, departures could also take place, with numerous stars at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium out of contract.

Wrexham aiming to complete summer swoop for Ben Davies

Ben Davies has been at Tottenham for over a decade after he signed for the London club from Swansea in 2014.

Since then, the Welshman has gone on to make over 350 appearances at Spurs and was part of the squad that won the Europa League this season.

Despite being 32 years old, the defenders still impresses at Spurs, and Davies earned the plaudits for his performance in Tottenham’s 4-0 victory over Manchester City this season

However, the Welshman could now be set to end his stay at Tottenham this summer, with his contract set to expire at the end of June.

With Davies’ future at Spurs yet to be clarified, other clubs are looking to take advantage of this uncertainty, including Wrexham.

According to Anthony Joseph (7 June), the Championship outfit are in talks to sign the centre-back this summer.

It is understood that Wrexham have held talks with Davies’ representatives over a potential move to The Racecourse Ground.

Tottenham should look to keep hold of Davies

Whoever is appointed the Tottenham manager in the coming weeks should look to keep Davies at the London club.

The Welshman is one of Spurs’ most experienced players and is the type of star you want in the dressing room after moving to a new club.

On top of this, Davies’ versatility makes him a valuable asset, especially with the Champions League returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

Hopefully, a new contract can be sorted out for the defender to ensure his future remains at Spurs.
