What Thomas Frank said on Eberechi Eze transfer speculation after Tottenham win vs Burnley

Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze appears to be edging closer to a move to Tottenham.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are intensifying their pursuit of Eze, with personal terms already agreed.

Thomas Frank’s side kicked the new Premier League season off with a 3-0 win against Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 16 August.

Mohammed Kudus starred, providing two assists for Richarlison.

Kudus’ performance will have Tottenham fans dreaming about the idea of Eze playing in the same team as the Ghanaian, and Frank was asked about Spurs’ interest in the Crystal Palace star after full-time in North London.

Frank refuses to comment on Eze speculation

Tottenham have been pursuing high-profile deals for Eze and Manchester City’s Savinho over recent days.

They appear to be moving closer to an agreement for the former, and after the win against Burnley, Frank was asked if there was any information he could provide on Spurs’ pursuit of Eze.

However, the Dane remained tight-lipped, simply saying, “I have that nice principle that I would like to speak about the players that are in-house and all the other speculations I don’t want to speak too much about that.”

While Frank wasn’t forthcoming with any information, his answer is unlikely to have dampened excitement in North London, as news surrounding an imminent agreement between Tottenham and Crystal Palace begins to gather pace.

Eze would take Tottenham to a new level

If Tottenham sign Eze, it would arguably be their best bit of business this summer.

After watching Kudus against Burnley, some supporters might not agree with that statement. However, Eze is a game-changing signing who could prove to be an even bigger asset to Frank than Kudus already appears to be.

Daniel Levy should be doing everything in his power to agree a deal, especially as it will leave fans on the other side of North London feeling frustrated, after previous suggestions that Eze could move to Arsenal.

If Spurs could sign Eze and Savinho in the coming days, it would completely transform their aspirations and expectations for this season, which have likely already been lifted after the convincing nature of the victory against Burnley.
