West Ham to make £50m+ signing after Mohammed Kudus sale to Tottenham

West Ham could soon accept defeat to Tottenham as they identify a Mohammed Kudus replacement.

Kudus would become the first West Ham player to join Tottenham since Scott Parker made the move to North London in 2011.

A deal between the two clubs is bound to be complicated due to the rivalry that exists, and it is no surprise that West Ham have already rejected a bid from Tottenham for Kudus.

However, it seems a deal could eventually be agreed upon as the Hammers now identify a replacement.

West Ham to replace Kudus with Ademola Lookman

As reported by Sky Sports Switzerland on Saturday (5 July), West Ham could accelerate their interest in Ademola Lookman if Kudus joins Tottenham.

It is understood that Atalanta are demanding £51.6million, and the sale of Kudus could help the Hammers to finance a deal.

This would be the ideal scenario for all involved, and it is no wonder that most reports indicate that West Ham would want around £60m for the Ghanaian this summer.

There is no doubt that Kudus would be a statement signing for Tottenham and a huge boost for the Lilywhites’ Premier League and UEFA Champions League hopes.

Tottenham must close Kudus’ signing soon

The potential transfer of Kudus must not be one that drags out throughout the summer.

Indeed, the Lilywhites have undergone several changes this summer. However, the biggest one is the arrival of Thomas Frank as head coach.

Ange Postecoglou may have been disappointing in the Premier League, but he won Spurs their first piece of silverware in 17 years. He was at the club for two years and had built a bond with his players and established a clear plan for the future.

However, his departure means that instead of entering day 707 under Postecoglou, Tottenham begin day one with Frank. As a result, the Dane will need time to build a competitive team.

This means that Spurs’ pre-season tour will become even more important. It is an opportunity for Frank to decide his team and set out his agenda for the new season.

As such, a signing as big as Kudus will need to be a part of pre-season to integrate into the squad. Therefore, Tottenham will need to get his transfer over the line as soon as possible.
