West Ham tell Tottenham what it’ll take to sign Kudus as bid made

Tottenham have been linked with Mohammed Kudus throughout the summer transfer window.

The West Ham star has been at the London Stadium for two seasons where he has impressed.

As a result, Thomas Frank is keen to add Kudus to his squad as part of his summer rebuild at Tottenham.

However, with Chelsea also interested in Kudus, Spurs are now in a race to secure his signature.

Tottenham see £50m bid rejected for Kudus

With only Brennan Johnson hitting double-figure goals in the Premier League last season, Frank is desperate to resolve this ahead of the new campaign.

Therefore, according to Ben Jacobs via X (5 July), Kudus is Spurs’ “top priority” this summer.

The Ghanaian international is reportedly keen on a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, where he will look to recover his form from the 2023/24 campaign.

As a result, the journalist has reported that Tottenham had submitted a £50 million bid for the 24-year-old, which has since been rejected by West Ham.

Nevertheless, the two London clubs remain in discussions, with the Hammers looking for £60m for the deal to go ahead.

Frank cannot be held to ransom by West Ham

As it stands, £50m is already a steep price for Kudus. The winger has only had one good campaign in the Premier League and could easily be a one-season wonder.

Therefore, with the Hammers set to demand £60m, Frank would be paying over the odds for the winger if he matches this.

Spurs have to negotiate the price down for the 24-year-old as they cannot afford to spend so much on another attacker who isn’t even West Ham’s best player.

If the Hammers cannot name a reasonable price for Kudus, Frank must move on to other targets, as he should not be held to ransom by Graham Potter.

There are plenty of bargains available around Europe that would likely have the same output at the winger for half the price.
